Default Pre-Searing Questions

I have been playing GW about 5 months, this weekend I decided to make a pre-searing character. I've got a few questions. (Also, are the answers the same in both pre-searing and post-searing?)

1) When you die and you are in a group, do you continue to get xp from team mates kills, pet kills/damage? I was accused of "stealing xp", because I killed the boss before rez'ng team mate. Later realized I should have rez'd because killing boss recharges signet.

2) When a necro team mate dies, his minions turn hostile. Do you get xp from killing previously friendly but now hostile minions? If so is this an alternative to death leveling?

3) I abandoned a lot of quests so as not to collect the xp. I am a Ranger primary (lvl 12), no secondary. Somehow I picked up warrior skills which is cool because it gave me a Healing Signet. Can you pick up all the profession skills at once or does talking to a another trainer replace the previous skills? Can I get Ranger (primary), Warrior (quest) and Necromancer (quest), etc skills?

Thanks

1. If your Res Signet was down, your ONLY option was to kill the boss to recharge it, even if it was available and you killed the boss, tell the guy who cried "xp stealing" to go cry you a river. I'm honestly not sure about getting exp when you die, sorry... but I DO remember leveling up while dead once, so maybe that confirms it.

2. I'm not sure about this one. It's been a while since the last time I've been a situation where an ally necro died and his minions were available to kill.

3. Talk to those trainers, and I believe you will have the option of picking up the quest again and being given the secondary skills. Then you can just ignore or abandon the quest again. You can't pick up all the skills for all secondaries at once, just one secondary at a time, and of course it dosen't make you become that secondary until you confirm by clicking ok after said quest is done and turned in at the least.

Happy Perma-Pre'ing.

Sorry for being a little off/not knowing some answers. It's been quite some years since I've focused on the details of the game anymore.

1. I'm pretty sure a dead character does not get xp from kills.

2. Minions don't give xp. See also http://www.presearing.com/forum2/index.php?topic=5700.0

3. As long as you don't commit to a secondary class, you can switch your set of basic secondary skills by talking to one of the trainers. However, you can only have one secondary class at a time, so if you took necromancer skills you would lose your warrior skills, etc.

The pre-searing communitys web site has a lot of information on it if you're looking for anything to do with pre-sear. I'd suggest looking at that when you have some time.

You can only get exp from killing things that are no more then 5 lvls less then you or greater then your current level. So once you hit 16th level exp is all over unless you death level and if you plan on staying in pre-sear to reach lvl 20 plan on this taking several months.

3) You can only have one secondary at a time, of course, but any skills you pick up in any profession will still be there when you change your secondary. For example, if you left pre-searing and later changed your secondary, you'd find that all the skills you got for that profession in pre, would still be available (and available to your heroes as well).
Or, in other words, you keep all the skills, but you can only access one set at a time. They aren't "replaced", just inactive.
